Among the earliest mass-produced semiconductor devices, BJTs are not as suited for high-frequency switching or operation at elevated currents/voltages compared to other device types. Nonetheless, they remain a preferred technology for applications demanding precise analog signal reproduction with minimal noise and distortion.
